Waterhouse FC put on a clinical display of attacking football on Monday, dismantling Chapelton Maroons 6-0 in the opening match of a double header at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. The former champions’ dominance was evident from the opening minutes, with the team establishing a commanding 3-0 lead by half time that set the tone for a one-sided affair.

Siegle Knight opened the scoring in the ninth minute when his long-range effort was spilled across the goal line by Chapelton goalkeeper Roje Williams. Rohan Brown doubled the advantage six minutes later, and Colorado Murray converted a penalty in the 29th minute to give Waterhouse complete control at the interval.

The second half saw Waterhouse continue their relentless assault on the Chapelton defense. Mario Simms added a fourth goal from the penalty spot in the 60th minute, before substitute Cardel Benbow made an impact off the bench with a goal in the 71st minute. Shamarie Dallas completed the rout with a sixth goal in the 77th minute, capping off a performance that showcased the team’s attacking prowess.

Under the guidance of head coach Donovan Duckie, Waterhouse has now compiled an impressive record of three consecutive victories without conceding a goal. The win propelled them to second place in the Jamaica Premier League standings with nine points, though they remain one point adrift of leaders Montego Bay United, who have played an additional match. With 13 goals scored across their three games, Waterhouse has established themselves as genuine title contenders.

Chapelton Maroons, meanwhile, suffered a heavy defeat that saw them drop to 10th place in the table with four points. In the evening’s second fixture, defending champions Portmore United salvaged a 1-1 draw against Arnett Gardens, with Clayton Peck scoring deep into added time to cancel out Diamond Clarke’s first-half goal for the visitors.

The Jamaica Premier League is the top tier of professional football in Jamaica, featuring the nation’s elite clubs competing for the championship title. Waterhouse FC and Portmore United are among the league’s most successful franchises, with Portmore currently holding the title of defending champions.

Waterhouse’s dominant performance reflects the high level of competitive football in Jamaica’s premier domestic league, showcasing the quality of Caribbean football and the caliber of talent within the region’s sporting infrastructure.
