The rapper escalates public feud by sharing old messages and calling for finalization of her pending split.
The ongoing drama between rapper Remy Ma and boxer Claressa Shields has flared up again, this time pulling Remy’s estranged husband Papoose directly into the public dispute. According to TheGrio, the latest exchange began when Remy shared footage from a video shoot featuring boxers Amanda Serrano and Alycia Baumgardner—both rivals of Shields—prompting the boxer to respond on social media.
Remy’s response was pointed, directing her frustration not only at Shields but also at Papoose. She publicly urged him to “sign the papers,” using the hashtag #FreeRemy and even referencing an upcoming divorce hearing date and time. The rapper then posted a screen recording she claimed showed years of Instagram messages between herself and Shields, including a 2021 conversation in which Shields invited Remy to one of her fights. In that exchange, Remy mentioned that Papoose was a fan of Shields—years before the boxer and rapper publicly confirmed their relationship.
This latest confrontation represents another chapter in a very public breakup. Remy and Papoose exchanged vows while she was incarcerated in 2008 and held a televised wedding ceremony in 2016. They share a daughter together. The tension between all three parties has been building for months, with Remy’s “W.Y.F.L.” freestyle widely believed by fans to target Shields, and Shields recently insisting that Papoose should not be called “somebody’s husband” given his divorce filing.
Paropose filed for divorce in May 2025, and the case remains unresolved. Throughout the process, both Remy and Papoose have made public accusations of infidelity against each other, while Shields and Papoose have continued their relationship. Remy’s latest social media posts make her position unmistakable: she wants the divorce finalized. As long as the legal proceedings drag on, observers can expect the public conflict surrounding the former couple and Shields to persist.
